Wolfe Island Scene of the Crime Festival Inc.'s vision statement:

The Wolfe Island Scene of the Crime Festival is committed to:

  • raising awareness of Wolfe Island's important cultural and historical legacy as the birthplace of Grant Allen, Canada's first crime writer;
  • strengthening Wolfe Island's cultural life and encouraging a healthy arts community by embracing and celebrating the Island's unique literary heritage;
  • increasing knowledge and fostering public appreciation of Canadian crime writing by providing a public forum for and interactive access with authors, aspiring writers, readers, and interested parties;
  • benefiting the community of Wolfe Island by bringing visitors to the Island in a way that honours the Island's heritage, enhances its cultural, artistic, and economic life, while being sensitive to the environment.
  • enhancing Wolfe Island's role and participation in the southeastern Ontario region's cultural landscape.
  • developing and promoting initiatives to increase voluntarism in the Island's cultural sector.
